'Support your local team': Wishaw boss issues rallying call to community

Wishaw boss David Dunn has urged the community to back them as they try to climb the West of Scotland League Conference C table.Dunn says Wishaw face a tough run of games in the near future, and could use all the backing they can get.Wishaw were left cooling their heels on Saturday as their clash at home to Ardrossan Winton Rovers was wiped out by torrential rain, and Dunn is already looking ahead to their visit to Glasgow Perthshire this weekend.After that they have a crunch tie at Cambuslang Rangers in the West of Scotland League cup, and Dunn hopes to get more people through the gates.Dunn said: “We’ve got a tough finish, we have the top three teams in the last three home games, the way it works out.“We’ve got Petershill, Neilston and Drumchapel all in the last three, and these are the games you want to play in, because they’ll all have stuff to play for.“Hopefully that attracts bigger crowds to Wishaw, because we’re crying out for fans.“Every little helps – we’re a small community club and we’re trying our best to get to the next level, but we need help.”Dunn says Wishaw did everything they could to get the Ardrossan game on but there will be a chance to fit some fixtures in at the end-up if need be.While he says there are some big games coming up, he’s focused on Glasgow Perthshire on Saturday.He said: “It was wild [last Saturday].

We’re doing very well and have a lot of momentum, so we were trying our best to get it on, but there were a lot of games off and it wasn’t to be.“I think there are a couple of free weeks at the end of the season.
