Strictly star Amy Dowden 'unable to sleep' and 'in tears' as she prepares for show return
ok.co.ukStrictly Come Dancing pro, Amy Dowden, admits she’s been emotional and ‘unable to sleep’ as she gets ready for the first day of rehearsals.The dancer was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2023 and as a result of her treatment, was unable to compete in the show last year.
But now, Amy is back and has returned to rehearsals for the first time. On social media today (Monday July 22), Amy said: “I can’t believe the day has finally arrived! “Since spring 2023 I’ve been dreaming of this day.Thinking and sometimes doubting it would even happen with so many setbacks along the way.
I didn’t sleep last night with nerves and excitement. “I had a good cry this morning and going to soak up every moment of this series which I’m forever grateful for.The Strictly family couldn’t have been more supportive and loving this past year.
I truly hope to make you proud this year. Right year eight, let’s do this.” Strictly Come Dancing rehearsals officially kicked off today with the stars commemorating the moment with a group shot.The caption read: "Day one of #Strictly2024 rehearsals done!
