Speeding Mercedes driver tested positive for cannabis

A Mercedes driver was arrested after failling a drug test when police stopped the car for speeding on a motorway. The white car was spotted by Greater Manchester traffic officers on Saturday night (November 20) exceeding the speed limit on the M60, the force reported on its GMP Traffic page on Twitter.

The patrol followed the white Mercedes to Denton, where they stopped it and questioned the driver. A saliva test revealed that the driver had been using cannabis, and a search of the car turned up a small quantity of the drug.

The GMP Traffic account tweeted a picture of the car with its licence plate blanked out this morning (Sunday). The tweet alongside the picture read : "ZME48 observed this Mercedes on the M 60 exceeding the speed limit.
