[Warning: Potentially Triggering Content] Sinéad O’Connor‘s final text messages to friends were a concerning and heartbreaking mix of jubilantly happy and despairingly sad moments.
That’s according to singer and political activist Bob Geldof, at least. Geldof (pictured above alongside Sinéad at a 2020 event) was a longtime friend and collaborator with Sinéad.
The Live Aid founder knew the late Irish performer for nearly all of his life. In fact, as the Irish Examiner has noted, the duo first met back in their childhoods, when they grew up in the same neighborhood and took the same bus to school.
Thus, when news first broke of Sinéad’s death last week at 56 years old, it hit Geldof hard. Of course, he wasn’t the only one affected by the Irish recording artist’s demise.
