Serious assault probe as police sealed off close at Paisley flats

A residential close at a block of flats in Paisley was taped off by police after a man was attacked. The emergency services rushed to Underwood Road following the serious assault just after 1am on Friday morning.

A 39-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment but was later released. An eyewitness told our sister news organisation, Glasgow Live: “Police have cordoned off one of the closes and are standing at the door.” Detectives in the area are now appealing for information as they bid to establish exactly what happened overnight.
