'Serious assault' avoided as undercover police arrest six people over attack

A 'serious assault' was avoided after undercover police officers arrested six people over an attack on a member of the public on Saturday night (March 2).

Officers from the Greater Manchester Police Transport Unit and Specialist Operations were on patrol across the town centre following an increase in reports of robberies and antisocial behaviour.
