Scots shoppers were left stunned after Morrisons supermarket stock shelved with Christmas products in September - more than 16 weeks before the big day.The Glasgow branch, in the Baillieston area, has been selling snacks like Cadbury's Snowy Fingers, Kipling's Festive Bakewells, mince pies, and a range of festive biscuits for several days. The store has dedicated an entire section to the seasonal treats, with the shelf fronts adorned with a red and gold festive design. The move comes more than two weeks before the last day of British summer - September 22 - and other notable holidays including Halloween and Bonfire Night.
The Christmas surprise sparked debate amongst shoppers with some claiming it was now "tradition" for Christmas goodies to be stocked early.Others were less impressed with the festive focus while claiming shelves for everyday products lay bare.
Robert Johnstone said: "It would suit them better to get essentials in."They're always short of bread, vegetables and other items.
The shelves are always empty."Heather Flanigan commented: "I can't believe that the shops are already stocking Christmas stuff.
