Scots man to walk almost 200 miles to Inverness after lockdown inspired new hobby

A Glasgow man is set to walk from his home to Inverness in the hope of raising as much money as possible for Cancer Research.Dave McKellar will leave his house in Robroyston on May 13 with the goal of finishing the almost 200 mile journey in just 10 days.The 39-year-old will make his way to Milngavie before taking on the West Highland Way to Fort William.

From there, he will continue on to Scotland's most northerly city.Dave's love for walking started during lockdown as millions of people across the country were told isolate from others.

Now he hopes he can use his passion for good.The Robroyston man told Glasgow Live: "It really started for me in lockdown. My work was closed for months and the only thing we could do was go out for our daily exercise."I really got into walking.

I started to walk around the local estate and I'd slowly walk a wee bit further each time. "By the time I was back at work I was walking miles and miles.
