The daughter of a Scots mum who died from cancer just seven weeks after going to hospital with stomach pains has praised hospice staff for helping the family make special memories.
Victoria Burns-Atkinson was told the devastating news that her mum Anne was terminal and described saying goodbye as one of the worst experiences of her life, as reports Edinburgh Live Due to the pain caused by the tumours, the 55-year-old required round the clock care with her loved ones being told that the best option was for her to go into a hospice.
Victoria, who was just 22 at the time, that this decision devastated the family at first but they soon changed their mind after witnessing the incredible care from Marie Curie staff.She said: "It was like an avalanche.
That's the only way I could describe what happened to our family. My mum went into hospital with tummy pains and after a few scans and waiting for those results, we were told she had terminal cancer.
