An evil Scots carer who grabbed and pulled an “extremely vulnerable” pensioner at a care home has been struck off. James Campbell was working as a support worker at a residential home in Dundee when he attacked the 92-year-old in June 2020.

The thug was convicted at Dundee Sheriff Court for assaulting the unnamed resident by seizing him by the body and pulling him in August last year.

He was referred to the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) who have now banned him from the profession and blasted him for his lack of ‘insight or regret’.Despite a previously unblemished four-year career, they found his fitness to practise was impaired while his attitude was “fundamentally incompatible” with remaining in the industry. The watchdog said: “Social service workers are expected to treat vulnerable residents in their care with dignity, respect and compassion.“Assaulting a resident by seizing him by the body and pulling him is an act of violent, aggressive and abusive behaviour towards an extremely vulnerable individual.“The resident had the right to expect that you would keep him safe from any harm.

Your behaviour risked serious physical, emotional and psychological harm to him, and was a very serious abuse of your position of power and trust as a carer.“Your behaviour raises concerns about your ability to control your reactions and behaviour, as well as your attitude to vulnerability.“You have shown no insight, regret or remorse about your behaviour.
