Amanda Holden
Amanda Louise Holden (born 16 February 1971) is an English media personality, actress, television presenter, singer, and author. She has judged on the television talent show competition Britain's Got Talent since the show began its run in 2007 on ITV. As an actress, Holden played the role of Mel in Kiss Me Kate (1998–2000), Geraldine Titley in The Grimleys (1999-2001), Sarah Trevanion in Wild at Heart (2006–2008), Lizzie, the Ring Mistress, in Big Top (2009), and the title role in Thoroughly Modern Millie, for which she was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award.

School 'knife' terror as pupil, 10, brandishes weapon in Ayrshire primary

Police were called to a Kilmarnock primary school after a pupil was found brandishing a weapon.It's understood that the schoolboy, 10, got hold of a knife in the dining room at lunch time last Thursday afternoon.In a message sent to parents, school chiefs acknowledged the incident caused upset and alarm among pupils and staff.East Ayrshire Council confirmed that nobody was injured during the incident and that the pupil had caused 'fear and alarm' by using a piece of school cutlery in the dining hall.For legal reasons, Ayrshire Live cannot reveal which East Ayrshire primary school is at the centre of the incident.One parent told Ayrshire Live that the schoolboy had got hold of a knife and described the incident as 'scary' and 'shocking'.A message sent to parents from the school read: "We wish to make you aware of an incident today that involved one of our pupils brandishing a weapon in the school building.

This incident has clearly caused upset and alarm among our pupils and staff and we are supporting everyone at this time."Please be reassured that the matter is being dealt with via East Ayrshire Education Service, school discipline procedures and police involvement."We recognise that this has been a highly upsetting incident and if you feel that your child requires any further support, please do not hesitate to contact us."An East Ayrshire Council spokesperson added: "East Ayrshire Council can confirm that a piece of school cutlery was used in the dining room by a pupil to cause fear and alarm and that no staff or pupils were harmed in the incident."The school, the council and Police Scotland dealt with the incident in accordance with appropriate procedures, both during and after the incident."All appropriate measures
