Luke Donald will send out Jon Rahm and Tyrell Hatton to lead Team Europe’s charge in The Ryder Cup.The world No.3 from Spain was heavily tipped to make the first pairing and so it has proved.

He’ll team up with England’s Tyrell Hatton and they face a big test against world No.1 Scottie Scheffler and Sam Burns. The captains of both Team Europe and Team USA have made the big calls ahead of opening day but for flying Scot Bob MacIntyre there is no place in the opening foursome pairings of the 44th iteration of the famous competition at Marco Simone Golf and Country Club in Rome.

MacIntyre, of course, qualified automatically alongside Rory McIlroy who teams up with Tommy Fleetwood. Meanwhile, Zach Johnson has chosen Schefler and Burns to lead Team USA in the morning for the colossus clash.
