Lucy Ashton hit Jennifer Dowd, 31, in her Ford Focus in Sefton Village at around 8.30am, on September 27 last year. The 24-year-old, who said the sun was in her eyes when she hit Ms Dowd, left her victim lying in the road because she "panicked", the Liverpool Echo reports.
