Prince William has met with survivors and bereaved families of the Grenfell Tower tragedy ahead of the sixth anniversary of the fire.
As part of the visit, he also visited Queen's Park Rangers football club, which is less than a mile from the tower, to hear about the efforts they have made to support the community since the tragedy on 14 June, 2017.The tower block caught fire trapping many of its residents inside and claiming the lives of 72 people, with an investigation into the shocking tragedy looking at the cladding scandal on tower blocks and the role of the fire service in responding to calls on the night.
Prince William, who is head of the Football Association, met with former QPR and England striker Les Ferdinand at the club at Loftus Road to hear more about support they had offered to those affected by the fire.
Events such as Game 4 Grenfell and the Grenfell Memorial Cup have involved football matches organised to benefit survivors, and William met with those who took part in and arranged the matches.
