Thrust onto the world stage from birth, Prince George would be forgiven for being nervous at times. The second-in-line to the throne was spotted looking "awkward" during a ceremony back in 2022, whilst a body language expert has claimed dad Prince William appeared to make a touching gesture of comfort. In March 2022, the family were at a memorial for the Duke of Edinburgh at Westminster Abbey to commemorate Prince Phillip.

The young Royal was there with sister, Princess Charlotte, at the time, while Louis did not attend. As it came to a close, royals mingled with other attendees in scenes in which George, then aged eight, looking uncomfortable, reports the Mirror.

Body language expert Nick Davies pointed out the moment, as Prince William chatted with a member of the military. George was seen "clutching his hand" when he previously entered the Abbey looking confident.

He said: "George appears more confident looking forward, staffing upright[...]"Until he entered the Church doors when he takes a deep breath quickly, gulps and licks his dry lips which is caused by pre-emptive anxiety, but he maintains good eye contact and once he is spoken to by one of the clergymen he breaks into a broad smile showing his confidence."However, once his father talks to the Navy gentlemen with the gold braiding, George's mouth tightens to the left and he rubs the bottom of his jacket with his right fingers, showing he feels awkward and is seeking comfort.
