On March 22, the Duchess of Cambridge, 42, announced via a video statement that she was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year following a planned abdominal surgery.“The King” author told Fox News recently that Carole has been pitching in with the Wales’ kids — Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5, — to help give them “a semblance of normality in their daily lives” as Kate undergoes chemotherapy.Carole has also been a great deal of support for William, as she “has been the closest thing to a mother [he] has.”William’s mother, Princess Diana, died in August 1997 at the age of 36 in a car crash when he was 15-years-old.“She has always been there for him as much as he has for Kate.
On the other hand, the relationship between William and his actual stepmother, Queen Camilla, has always been chilly. William can count on Camilla to focus on the King and her own grandchildren, and that’s about it,” Andersen continued.
