A popular pizza restaurant in the Northern Quarter has announced it will be closing this week after almost ten years in business.

PLY, situated on the corner of Lever Street and Stevenson Square, first opened its doors in March 2015 and became a popular spot for its freshly-made Neapolitan sourdough pizzas.

Recently, it also served up focaccia sandwiches from Mickey’s and Southern Fried Chicken by Cardinal Rule. However, bosses behind the restaurant have admitted the venue will now close its doors on Saturday this week (June 22).

In a post on social media, PLY said the Northern Quarter site was ‘in need of some major TLC’ and would be making way for a new tenant.
