Police appeal for witnesses as tributes flood in for biker killed on A82 at Luss

Tributes have poured in for a ‘one in a million’ biker who was killed on the A82 near Luss earlier this month, as police appealed for anyone with information to come forward.Andrew Jowett, 37, from Paisley was riding his Suzuki motorcycle on the busy route at around 6.40pm on Tuesday June 13 when it was involved in an incident with a white Skoda Scala.He was rushed to hospital in Glasgow, where he later died, with police last week re-appealing for eyewitnesses to come forward.Sergeant Brian Simpson of Dumbarton Road Policing Unit, encouraged anyone who may any information to come forward.He said: “Our thoughts remain with Andrew’s family and friends.“Enquiries are ongoing into the crash and I am appealing for anyone, not already spoken to by police, who witnessed the crash or saw the two vehicles prior to the collision, to get in touch.“I am particularly keen to hear from the drivers of a dark coloured Volkswagen Touareg and a white Arnold Clark hire van who were in the area at the time.“It’s possible they may have information or have dash-cam footage that will be of help to our investigation.”Anyone with any information, including dash-cam footage, is asked to contact 101 quoting incident number3676 of 13 June 2023.Paying tribute to Andrew on social media, his cousin Craig Jowett said: “It’s in our moments of silence we reflect on times we’ve had, memories we’ve shared and people we’ve lost it’s hard to grip hold of the reality that you’ve gone.“I’ve had a few days now to process and reflect and I still can’t understand why you were chosen to be taken away so soon.“You won’t ever understand how much you are missed and loved.“I’m so blessed to have known you so sad to have lost you but so happy to have you as family.“I
