Dumfries and Galloway residents are being urged to get boosted before the bells to help protect themselves against Covid.Extra capacity and more drop-in vaccination clinics have been lined up in Dumfries and Stranraer on Hogmanay.And anyone aged over 18 at least 12 weeks on from their second jag is being strongly encouraged to book a slot ahead of New Year.The call comes amid strong evidence that the booster jag provides a good defence against the Omicron variant.Vaccination co-ordinator Dr Nigel Calvert said: “As we approach the end of the year, we make this request – please, if you haven’t already received your booster, act now.“With a huge number of people going to be exposed please do act now to reduce your risk of being admitted to
