Dr Ranj Singh has teased that a “surprise” return to TV could be on the cards for former This Morning presenter Phillip Schofield following his “unwise but not illegal” affair with a younger colleague on the daytime show.
Dr Ranj, 44, who was the show's resident medical expert from 2016 to 2021, has reflected on the events concerning Phillip in a new interview with Closer, as he revealed: “I don’t think many people have heard from him since everything came out”.
He continued and said: “I hope he’s well and I hope he’s OK, but I don’t think many people have much contact with him. A lot happened in a very short space of time.” It was revealed in the summer that ITV was conducting an external review into the details surrounding Phillip’s immediate departure from the show.
While Dr Ranj said “people do surprise us” with comebacks to TV, he said he thinks everything needs to be “properly investigated” and that “we need to get to the bottom of everything”.
