A professional chef has said people are cooking sausages wrong, and have been for some time, as he shared the best way to cook them up.
The expert has said there are a few knacks to cooking up the bangers perfectly, and most people make the same three mistakes during the process, reports the Mirror.Chef Jeff Baker, who served musical icons Queen, has advised people how to cook up sausages properly - stating there are five steps to doing so.People always tend to prick sausages before cooking, and this is a big mistake, according to the chef - as you'll lose the best juices when cooking them up.The award-winning cook, who now works at Farmison & Co, has shared all he knows on cooking the bangers, including the above mistake.Read on below to find out how to cook a sausage perfectly, and avoid making these three mistakes.It is important to not shove a sausage straight into a hot pan from the fridge - it needs to be rested for 20 minutes to allow it to cook evenly.It will also prevent the skin from splitting when it hits the heat of the pan.Use a heavy non-stick frying pan, and place on low to medium heat.Swirl this around until the base of the sausage is fully cooked, then tip away any excess fat.Turning them regularly ensures the bangers get a rich golden colour, for a traditional sausage this process should take around 10-12 mins.A cooked sausage should have an internal temperature of 70C, and should also be firm to the touch.Achieving this isn't as hard as you'd think - all you have to do is let the bangers rest for a few minutes.Just as you'd let a steak rest to allow the relaxation of the meat, doing this with your sausage will allow you to have tender juicy sausages.Doing this can cause juices to run out of the
