The eagerly awaited second season of the political thriller series The Diplomat is set to return to Netflix, with fans gearing up for its Halloween release.
The first season followed the story of Kate Wyler (portrayed by Keri Russell), the newly appointed US ambassador to the UK, who found herself navigating through an international crisis.
Netflix has tantalised viewers with a trailer for the upcoming season, released on Tuesday. The nearly two-minute-long teaser suggests heightened suspense as it reveals that Hal Wyler (played by Rufus Sewell), Kate's husband, miraculously survived the car bomb explosion from the previous season's finale, although he is now hospitalised.Kate's challenges are not just personal; she faces a mole within her ranks, as she discloses in the trailer: "If members of my government are involved, it could be anyone.
The call is coming from inside the house and three Americans just got blown up inside the house."However, the excitement was somewhat dampened for fans when they discovered that the new season will only have six episodes, two fewer than the first season's eight.
