Neil Lennon

Neil Francis Lennon (born 25 June 1971) is a Northern Irish football coach and former player who is the manager of Scottish Premiership club Celtic. During his playing career he represented English clubs Manchester City, Crewe Alexandra and Leicester City.

Lennon moved to Scottish club Celtic in 2000, where he made over 200 appearances and was appointed captain in 2005. Before retiring as a player, he returned to England and played for Nottingham Forest and Wycombe Wanderers. Lennon made 40 appearances for Northern Ireland in nine years, scoring two goals. Lennon was appointed manager of Celtic in March 2010, initially in a caretaker capacity after the departure of Tony Mowbray.

Neil Lennon was left scratching his head after Rangers were snubbed by three of his fellow pundits when asked to predict who would win this season’s Viaplay Cup.

Michael Beale’s stuttering Light Blues are odds-on to lift the first piece of silverware of the season at Hampden in December and face Livingston at Ibrox Stadium in the quarter final as they look to book a place at the National Stadium in November.

Hearts secured their place in the last four with a win over Kilmarnock on Tuesday night while Aberdeen travel to Ross County and Hibs, under new boss Nick Montgomery, host Premiership high flyers St Mirren.

Rangers have won their last three games on the trot without conceding a goal, including a victory at home to Spanish outfit Real Betis in the Europa League, but performances have been well below par this season and the fans jeered the team off the park despite a victory at home to Motherwell on Sunday.
