TV presenter Jonnie Irwin has told fans his sons will grow up not knowing their dad - after revealing he has terminal cancer.

The dad-of-three, 48, best known for hosting A Place In The Sun, explained last night that he was given six months to live when first diagnosed.

He told Hello!: "I want to make memories and capture these moments with my family because the reality is, my boys are going to grow up not knowing their dad and that breaks my heart." The Channel 4 star and his wife Jessica share three-year-old son Rex and two-year-old twins, Rafa and Cormac.

Jonnie explained he was initially diagnosed with lung cancer in 2020 and told he had six months to live. Now, he says: "I don’t know how long I have left, but I try to stay positive and my attitude is that I'm living with cancer, not dying from it." Jonnie initially kept the news secret but explained he decided to speak out after it became like a "monkey on my back".
