The mums of two murdered young men have united to demand tougher life sentences in Scotland. The families of tragic Liam Hendry, callously mowed down in an unprovoked street attack, and Terry Smith, brutally stabbed to death after a jibe over a T-shirt, watched their killers face justice in court this year.
But despite both being handed mandatory life sentences for murder, the thugs could walk free much earlier as the “punishment” part of their sentences were 22 years and 15 years.
