Motherwell rocked by new injury as crocked trio near comebacks

Stuart Kettlewell fears that Motherwell defender Pape Souare is out wit a “significant” ankle injury sustained in a bounce game on Sunday.The Fir Park gaffer won’t put a prognosis on how long the 33-year-old is likely to be out for, but says it looks bad.Souare was crocked during a 60-minute in-house training game on Sunday, which gave several players valuable game-time.But he says injured trio Calum Butcher, Jon Obika and Mika Biereth could play a part in Saturday’s home Premiership match against Ross County.Kettlewell said: “Pape Souare sustained what looks like a pretty significant injury.“We’ll not go into too many details, because we’re going through that process of scans, x-rays, etc, but from the Sunday, that was probably the major negative that comes about.“We feel sorry for Pape, he has been numerous weeks trying to get back with a calf injury, he was looking really good, really strong, but unfortunately he takes the step back.“We’ll support him, make sure he’s got everything that he needs, and we’ll get a full diagnosis on that and take it from there.“It’s an ankle injury.
