Monklands motorists are advised to plan ahead and check diversions ahead of a series of upcoming road closures in the area. Arbuckle Road in Plains will shut for five days from February 19.The closure will run between Learigg Road and Heatheryford Gardens and is for the installation of traffic calming measures.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

The closure is to “facilitate carriageway surface cover repairs” and diversions will be the A89 Bank Street, Blair Road and King Street.Ironwork repairs will see Chapelhall’s Rockcliffe Path close for 24 hours from March 5.This will be between properties 19 and 20 and pedestrian access “will be permitted where practical” during the closure.Drivers will be able to use Lammermuir Way and the B799 Lancaster Avenue as alternative routes.Calderbank’s Park Road, from the B802 Main Street to Crown Street, will be shut for ironwork repairs between 9.30am and 6pm on March 5.The B802 Main Street and Crowwood Road will be in place for motorists to use as diverted routes.
