Big Thief, Sampha, Sleaford Mods and Jon Hopkins have been announced as headliners for this year’s edition of Green Man festival.The Brecon Beacons festival will return for its 22nd edition on August 15-18. Sofia Kourtesis has unveiled the details of her debut album, Madres. Due out October 27 via Ninja Tune, the project is dedicated to the Peruvian producer and songstress' mother.

Sofia Kourtesis has shared a new single – listen to the openhearted and upbeat ‘Madres’ below.The track marks the Peruvian artist’s first new music of 2023, following the release of her Manu Chao collaboration ‘Estación Esperanza’ in January last year.“This song is about my mother, her mother, my sisters who are mothers, my brothers who are mothers, and all the LGBTQIA+ members who are mothers to their communities,” says Kourtesis. “Madres has no gender.

The weekend of Saturday, September 24 marked the first ever Portola Music Festival, held at San Francisco’s Pier 80 and organized by Goldenvoice, the promoters of Coachella. The two-day event was a celebration of electronic music through the ages, with a lineup that showcased the diversity — in age, origin, and background — of the artists who make us dance.

Björk, Groove Armada and Metronomy are among the acts that have been announced as headliners for this year’s Bluedot Festival.The fifth instalment of the music, science and culture event is set to take place at Cheshire’s Jodrell Bank Observatory on July 21–24, 2022.The 2020 edition of Bluedot Festival was supposed to be headlined by Björk, Groove Armada and Metronomy but was postponed to 2021 because of COVID-19. With restrictions still in place this June though, the festival was once again forced to postpone to 2022.In a statement released at the time about the headliners returning, it was confirmed organisers were “working with these artists to hopefully welcome them back in 2022”.It’s now been confirmed that all three acts are returning along with other headliners Mogwai and Hannah Peel.Björk’s Sunday set – a festival exclusive – will see her joined by The Hallé Orchestra at the UNESCO World Heritage site of Jodrell Bank Observatory.

Sofia Kourtesis has announced her new EP ‘Fresia Magdalena’ – you can hear the track ‘La Perla’ below.Set for release on March 19 via the Ninja Tune imprint Technicolour, the Berlin-based Peruvian artist’s new release follows on from her breakout February 2020 EP ‘Sarita Colonia’.Speaking about ‘La Perla’, which you can hear below, Kourtesis said: “Although I’ve sampled my own voice before, this is the first time I’ve really sung on a track. My dream is to develop a live show and I created ‘La Perla’ with that in mind.“‘La Perla’ is about staring at the sea, It’s the first thing I’ll do when I return to Peru.
