Mobile phone companies owe more than £750,000 to Dumfries and Galloway Council.The huge debt to the local authority has piled up through the rental of 10 different hill sites for mobile phone radio towers.A report produced at the council’s finance, procurement and transformation committee last week on the issue explained: “While arrangements for the recovery of income are being progressed between communities and legal services, the complexity of the requirements and capacity of key staff resources have resulted in some timing issues.“Every effort will continue to be made to recover any amounts legally due to the council, including the use of external resources.”Annandale North Councillor Stephen Thompson queried why the debt hadn’t been
