Katy Perry

Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson (born October 25, 1984), known professionally as Katy Perry, is an American singer, songwriter, and television judge. After singing in church during her childhood, she pursued a career in gospel music as a teenager.

Perry signed with Red Hill Records and released her debut studio album Katy Hudson under her birth name in 2001, which was commercially unsuccessful. She moved to Los Angeles the following year to venture into secular music after Red Hill ceased operations and she subsequently began working with producers Glen Ballard, Dr. Luke, and Max Martin.

After adopting the stage name Katy Perry and being dropped by The Island Def Jam Music Group and Columbia Records, she signed a recording contract with Capitol Records in April 2007.

Mike Tindall was worried he might perform a ‘sl*t drop’ and ‘rip his trousers’ while dancing at the Coronation Concert. The 44-year-old Royal, speaking on his podcast The Good, The Bad & The Rugby, described the weekend that saw King Charles officially crowned as “strange but amazing”.

The ex-England rugby star, who is married to Princess Anne ’s daughter Zara Tindall, also discussed how he was fearful he might get carried away while dancing at the musical extravaganza at Windsor Castle the day after the historic Coronation ceremony.

He added the “worst thing” was being unsure about the etiquette of getting up and dancing before the King had decided to do so.

Recalling the event to co-hosts James Haskell and Alex Payne, he said: “You can't not hear Lionel Richie sing All Night Long and get up and dance. “The worst thing was I was like, yeah get up and dance to this but, is the King going to stand up?” He went on to say that he was not sure if he should remain seated and just wave his flag instead.
