This may sound confusing, but luckily the former doctor has explained all on the latest instalment of his Just One Thing podcast.Speaking to biologist Professor Giles Yeo, Michael highlighted the importance of undertaking a health kick for the right reasons.
Rather than look to the scales for validation, we should be focusing on how eating better and moving more makes us feel in other ways.Explaining why weight loss is not an ideal motivator, Michael said: "Frequently people go to the gym on the first of January in order to lose weight, so they go down, they go to the gym, they do loads of exercise."At the end of the month they've lost nothing so they give up and that's because they're measuring the wrong thing.
