Manchester Marathon 2022 route and course map explained
manchestereveningnews.co.ukThis Sunday will see thousands of runners take part in the Manchester Marathon and take in some of the city's greatest landmarks.
Last year, the race moved to October due to coronavirus restriction - thankfully the schedule has now returned to normal for a spring event.
The Therme event is the second-largest marathon event in the UK and the fourth largest in Europe overall. It will also be host to the England Commonwealth Games Qualifiers which will see some of the country's best athletes tackle the famous 26.2-mile course through Greater Manchester to compete for a spot on the England team for Birmingham 2022.
Furthermore, the marathon has a rich history dating back as far as 1908 where it has now grown to become a much-loved running event for athletes all across the UK.
