Guests were evacuated from a Manchester city centre hotel last night as firefighters 'cleared smoke' from inside. Crews from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene at the Kimpton Clocktower hotel on Oxford Street at around 11.45pm.
An 'electrical fault' caused smoke to billow onto the third floor. A spokesperson for the hotel said guests were evacuated 'in line with safety procedures'.

Fire engines were pictured stationed outside. A spokesperson for GMFRS said: "At approximately 11.45pm on Tuesday, 5 April, fire engines from Gorton, Salford and Manchester Central stations were called to a hotel on Oxford Street, in Manchester.
