Man stabbed 'for his shopping' outside Aldi as manhunt launched by police

A man has been rushed to hospital after he was stabbed "for his shopping" as he made his way across a busy car park. The shocking attack took place outside Aldi on Heywood Way, Salford just before 4.30pm.

It is understood that the 62-year-old victim had picked up groceries from the supermarket before he was set upon by the knifeman as he walked back to his car.

Officers have since taped off the scene at Salford Precinct in Greater Manchester.Police say they believe the stabbing was an isolated incident and have launched a manhunt for the knifeman, however no arrests have yet been made.

One store worker, who did not wish to be identified, told the Manchester Evening News : "We saw everyone running out of the precinct. "I saw an old man at the side of his car.
