Forest Green have struck an agreement with Rangers for the talented 20-year-old and he has travelled south for talks. McCann was offered a new deal at Rangers but is at a stage in his career where he wants to play regular first-team football.The ambitious midfielder was offered a new deal at Rangers but wasn’t convinced there was a pathway to become a first-team regular.
Rangers were keen for him to remain part of their first-team squad but McCann believes he would be more beneficial playing regular first-team football.
Rangers signed McCann from Manchester United back in 2021. McCann has 12 appearances for Rangers and the Colts this season, scoring five goals in the process.
