A man has been charged with allegedly selling crack cocaine from behind a city centre hotel. Edward Afekafe, 40, of Warbeck Road, Manchester has been charged with possession with intent to supply.
In a statement GMP said it followed an operation on Monday night where officers responded to intelligence that class A drugs were being sold at the rear of MacDonald Manchester Hotel on London Road.
The statement added: "Officers from the City Centre Neighbourhood Team attended the location and sighted a male who was behaving suspiciously.
He was stopped and searched and a quantity of ‘business cards’ and a burner phone were found on his person. A further strip search led to the discovery of approximately 40 wraps of crack cocaine and heroin, with a street value of £600-£700." Afekafe appeared at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court on Tuesday this week.
