Man arrested on suspicion of child neglect after boy, 4, injured in fall from second floor window

A man has been arrested on suspicion of child neglect after a four-year-old boy was injured in a fall from a second floor window.

Emergency services were called to the incident on Union Street in Urmston at 3.15pm on Saturday. Police say boy was taken to hospital 'with injuries that are thankfully now not deemed to be serious'.

A man in his 30s remains in custody for questioning. A number of shops were taped off as police appeared to be focusing on a property above one of the businesses. Staff at a takeaway on Union Street told the Manchester Evening News of their shock.
