Lorraine Kelly halted her ITV morning show to pay a poignant tribute to a "special" friend. The TV presenter, 64, looked visibly emotional as she took a moment to remember breast cancer campaigner Kris Hallenga, who died in May.
After previewing what was in store for the day's show, Lorraine said: "First, though, we are remembering someone very special, a campaigner and a big friend of this show, Kris Hallenga, who died earlier this year." She continued: "She was only 38 but she was diagnosed with incurable stage four breast cancer when she was just 23 years old, her life is the subject of a new documentary that airs tonight.
It highlights her unique philosophy on living with terminal cancer and the impact she made on all of us." Lorraine was then joined by Kris' twin sister, Maren, to discuss the documentary and her incredible legacy.
Kris became a figure of inspiration after being diagnosed with incurable stage four breast cancer at the age of 23 in 2009. It came after she was misdiagnosed by her GP for over a year.
