Livingston Designer Outlet launch 'Giving Tree' initiative for Christmas

This festive season, Livingston Designer Outlet is appealing to its kind-hearted visitors to help put a smile on the faces of local children who find themselves in need this Christmas by supporting its Giving Tree initiative.Between now and December 17, outlet guests are invited to take a tag from the ‘Giving Tree’ and buy a gift for a child and share it with the outlet’s Guest Services Team.All the gifts will be donated to the West Lothian Financial Inclusion Network’s North Pole Project, which aims to collect hundreds of Christmas shoeboxes for local children and teenagers who might otherwise wake up on Christmas Day without a present.Kylie Wilson, marketing manager at Livingston Designer Outlet said: “This is the third year in-a-row that the outlet’s Giving Tree will be used to support this extremely worthwhile local cause”.“Every day financial pressures coupled with the additional overall cost of the festive season means that what should be a magical, happy time can be incredibly challenging for some families.

In certain instances, things can be such a challenge, that some children do unfortunately have to go without.“Buying the smallest of gifts at Christmas can be a struggle for some, which is why we have decided to support this local charity once again.

We want to help make sure that local children get to wake up on Christmas Day feeling excited because they have something to open”.Sheila Jamieson, trustee chairman of West Lothian Financial Inclusion Service, added: “We are extremely grateful for each and every donation.
