Livingston defender Cristian Montano is adamant his side’s reputation is fuelling a sense of injustice. The Lions have been reduced to 10 men in the early stages in each of their last two games but the Colombian insists there are more physical teams than Livi in the league. The 31-year-old fired David Martindale’s side into the lead on Wednesday night during their 1-1 clash with St Mirren after Scott Pittman had earlier been shown a red card after a VAR check barely 20 minutes into the contest. That decision will go before an appeals panel today after Jason Holt’s red against Hibs at the weekend was upheld yesterday. The former Bristol Rovers man commented: “It seems like every time we commit a foul or something happens then everything seems to go against us.“Everyone talks about Livingston being a physical team, A lot of teams are more physical than us but they seem to get away with a lot of things.

I thought it was a soft red against St Mirren and against Hibs.”Unlike at Easter Road when they fell to a 4-0 loss, the Lions didn’t fold on Wednesday and claimed a point with Montano adding: “It would have been easy for heads to go down but we have a strong group in terms of character and belief.

We knew we couldn’t repeat the same thing.” Don't miss the latest news from the West Lothian Courier. Sign up to our free newsletter here
