The cross country season is now well under way and Law and District AAC athletes have been competing across Scotland in all weather conditions, over tough, hilly, muddy courses.At a wet Cumbernauld, Law had five junior teams and four senior teams competing in the National Cross Country relays had athletes had a great day out, despite the weather and ground conditions.The young males team were the highest placed, finishing 16th in a field of 78 teams from throughout Scotland, with congratulations going to U13 Cameron Chambers, U15 John Frood and U17 Ryan Kellock.On the same day, 19-year old Jessica Robson took part in her first ever marathon in Frankfurt, finishing in a fantastic time of 3:09.04hrs as first U20 female, first U23 female and 61st female finisher overall.Many youngsters then travelled to Gorebridge to take part in Lasswade Athletic Club’s 39th Open Cross Country Meeting.

The Under 11s were first up with Abbie Boyle winning the bronze medal and Alexander Wotherspoon finishing in fifth place.U13 Olivia Inglis finished 6th in the two-mile race, with U15 Sophie Nelson and Hannah Jamieson finishing 14th and 15th, respectively.U17 Jessica Inglis had a terrific run in the three-mile race, winning the gold medal and U14 Daniel Simpson finished in seventh place.

Jessica Inglis, Yuki Faulds and Ayumi Faulds also won gold team medals.U17 Ryan Kellock won bronze in the 3.8mile event, with Logan Whitton following closely in fourth place.Four senior women ran in the 3.8 mile race with Reagan Binnie having a great run for silver and picking up a team prize with Elaine Boyle, Lesley Graham and Jennifer Beattie.The last race of the day was the senior men’s event with Matthew Gillon, Finn Milligan, Rich Beattie, John O’Leary,
