Latest Greater Manchester infection rates as numbers fall in Bolton but rise sharply elsewhere

Cases have more than doubled week-on-week in Salford which now has second the second-highest rate in Greater Manchester, whilst there have also been notable increases in the number of cases in Stockport, Oldham and Tameside.

In Bolton, there were 1,079 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending May 28, which is 223 fewer than the previous seven days, data from Public Health England shows.

At 375 cases per 100,000 of population, the infection rate in Bolton is down slightly compared with the previous day and the week-on-week trend is down
