dailyrecord.co.ukKilmarnock kicked off their Scottish Premiership season with a dream start.The Ayrshire side picked up all three points at home to Rangers as a Brad Lyons strike sealed a fantastic victory.Odds-on favourites rolled into Rugby Park expecting to match Celtic's opening day win against Ross County, but Derek McInnes and his side didn't receive the memo as they had other ideas.Rangers had a decent chance in the seventh minute as Sima was found in the box, but his audacious back heel lobbed was easily caught by Will Dennis.Cyril Dessers ended up through on goal but Lewis Mayo got back to put in an incredible challenge to halt his attack, despite the offside flag being raised after.Dessers then had a decent chance 10 minutes later but his powerful effort was well saved at the near post from Dennis.Matty Kennedy tried his luck in the 58th minute as he cut in from the right wing to attempt an effort from 20 yards, but it flew over Jack Butland’s crossbar.Rugby Park was lifted as Killie captain Kyle Vassell was subbed on in the 63rd minute, and two minutes later the place was rocking as Lyons smashed a shot past Butland to give the hosts a sensational lead.Nico Raskin tried his luck from range in the 85th minute but it sailed wide to the relief of Dennis.Kemar Roofe had a fantastic chance just before the 90th minute as he had a header from a yard out but he rifled the side of the net.
