Today (August 16), the saga continues with the release of Usher’s “Boyfriend” and its accompanying music video, in which Keke becomes Usher after locking eyes with him in an elevator. “Somebody said that your boyfriend’s lookin’ for me / Oh, that’s cool, that’s cool,” Usher sings in the hook, seemingly taunting Jackson. “Well, he should know I’m pretty easy to find / Just look for me wherever he sees you.” Read Next: Usher’s new song leans into the “grown and sexy” R&B trope Just 30 minutes after the video’s release this morning at 10 a.m., People reported that Palmer and Jackson had parted ways.
The FADER has reached out to a representative of Palmer for further comment. “Boyfriend” follows closely on the heels of “Good Good,” an early-August Usher cut featuring Summer Walker and 21 Savage.
