Jussie Smollett Sentenced to 150 Days in Jail, Declares He's 'Not Suicidal' While Being Taken Away (Video)

Jussie Smollett has been sentenced to 150 days in jail and he is making sure people know that he will not do anything to himself while in custody.

The 39-year-old Empire actor was previously found guilty on charges that he staged a hate-crime attack against himself and his sentencing happened on Thursday (March 10) in Chicago, Ill.

He also has to pay restitution to the city of Chicago and a fine of $25,000. Before being taken away to jail, Jussie told the judge, “I would just like to say, your honor, I am not suicidal.” He repeated that sentiment two more times. “I am innocent and I am not suicidal,” Jussie continued. “If I did this then it means I stuck my fist in fears of the Black Americans in this country for over 400 years and the fears of the LGBT community.
