Jordan Peele has come forth to tease his as-yet-untitled fourth directorial effort, previously dated for Christmas Day 2024, following its strike-imposed removal from Universal Pictures‘ release calendar.
Reflecting on the last year in the latest episode of the podcast Conan O’Brien Needs A Friend, Peele noted that it was an “interesting” one which had him “in a state of listening” amidst the six-month double strike from WGA and SAG-AFTRA. “I do feel like my next project is clear to me,” he added, “and I’m psyched that I have another film that could be my favorite movie if I make it right.” Intel on the story and cast for Peele’s latest directorial effort are being kept under wraps for as long as possible, as is always the case with the filmmaker.
But it was one of two from his Monkeypaw Productions that was quietly pulled from the release calendar on Christmas Day 2023.
The other, a horror thriller only to be produced by Peele, had been dated for September 27, 2024. Now set for release on Christmas in place of the film helmed by Peele is Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu, from Uni’s indie label Focus Features.
