Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson (born October 25, 1984), known professionally as Katy Perry, is an American singer, songwriter, and television judge. After singing in church during her childhood, she pursued a career in gospel music as a teenager.
Perry signed with Red Hill Records and released her debut studio album Katy Hudson under her birth name in 2001, which was commercially unsuccessful. She moved to Los Angeles the following year to venture into secular music after Red Hill ceased operations and she subsequently began working with producers Glen Ballard, Dr. Luke, and Max Martin.
After adopting the stage name Katy Perry and being dropped by The Island Def Jam Music Group and Columbia Records, she signed a recording contract with Capitol Records in April 2007.
Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. She is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which have received widespread media coverage. At age 14, Swift became the youngest artist signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house and, at 15, she signed her first record deal.
Her 2006 eponymous debut album was the longest-charting album of the 2000s in the US. Its third single, "Our Song", made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in 2008.
Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", it became the US' best-selling album of 2009 and was certified diamond in the US. The album won four Grammy Awards, and Swift became the youngest Album of the Year winner.
Unconditionally.” The musician revealed Monday that he still listens to his 2013 duet with his then-girlfriend Katy Perry, “Who You Love.” “Isn’t that great?
I’m glad we did that,” Mayer, 45, said on “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen.”“I listen to that every once in a while and I go, ‘I like that song.’ I like the way that she sounds on the song.
She got that way of singing down and met the challenge of that song. It was so much fun.”According to the “Gravity” singer, the track served as a “prototype” for his 2021 album “Sob Rock.” “It was just at the point where I was saying, ‘Why can’t I make music from a different era?'” he told Cohen, 55. “If I love a style of music and I want to make it, like a genre, why can’t I make music that I was pretending was from a different era?”Mayer and Perry, 38, dated on and off between 2012 and 2015 shortly after the “New Light” singer ended his romance with Taylor Swift.
Social media users were quick to sound off on the revelation. “I was rooting for this couple, it’s a shame it didn’t work out, what matters now is that you’re happy with the one you love,” stated one person. “The song is really perfect, Katy’s relationship has paid off too much,” gushed another. “I think it’s mature to talk about your ex like that,” commented a third person.“Miss them,” a poster rued. The Post reached out to Perry for comment.
