Now Sancho has rediscovered his form since returning to Dortmund and is on the cusp of achieving history with the club. Saturday will see Dortmund face Real Madrid in the Champions League final at Wembley Stadium.
Victory in the final would see Dortmund win the competition for the second time in the club's history and for the first time since 1997.
