In his last hours, he was rushed to hospital struggling to breathe and soon after arrival, doctors told his family there was nothing more they could do but make him comfortable.Bernie, Gemma and Summer were all present during Paul's final moments on the ITV soap.
They attempted to get Billy, who was stuck in traffic at Frescho's car park, on the phone with him believing he had spoken to Paul.However, the three women didn't tell Billy the truth - that Paul had already died in a gut-wrenching twist after a series of events delayed his arrival, reports the Manchester Evening News.Later when Billy arrived, he was devastated to see a doctor confirming Paul's death before rushing into the room and cradling his husband for the last time.
