Homes and businesses have been without water in parts of Wigan and Leigh this morning after a troublesome water pipe burst yet again.
Some residents woke up to no running water at home today (April 29), while others reported having low water pressure. United Utilities says the incident, which was first reported shortly after 7am, is affecting residents in both the WN2 and WN7 postcodes.
People on social media have reported having no running water in areas including Westleigh, Hindley Green and central Leigh. The company says the issue has been caused by a burst on Nel Pal Lane, in Leigh, where multiple bursts have been reported over the past week.
In an online update after 9am, a United Utilities spokesperson added: "We're on with it and our team will be in the area as soon as possible to get this fixed."
